FINDING MY PASSION

I went to my first Tony Robbins UPW in 2018 alone and was in awe that a tribe like this existed. I was hooked and I needed more. I was just starting to scratch the surface of taking my power back and finding my self-worth. I went to my 2nd UPW in 2019 and brought a friend and I even paid for her ticket because I knew she needed to experience what I did when I went. Anyone that has attended UPW knows it's a life changing experience. Shout out to all of my fellow firewalkers!!!

Here's what I have never told anyone, seriously I am realizing I am a bit woohoo for confessing anything on online but here goes: When I went to my 2nd UPW, I felt lost and a bit like a failure when I couldn't really grasp how I could "Live with Passion". I was like, this is my 2nd time at UPW, why am I not feeling as warm and fuzzy and rocked as I did the first time? Well, now I realize Tony and Joseph were making me feel uncomfortable and I didn't like it. Tony and Joseph were calling out my blind spots and it didn't feel good! I didn't know what my own passion was and I felt desperate because of it. I didn't know why I was I feeling desperate. I wasn't at my rock bottom; I had already bootstrapped my way out of that. I knew there was something better, but I had no idea what that was FOR ME and I knew I was missing out. Everyone was settling goals to follow their passion and I felt like an imposter as I grasped at straws to follow along with some of the exercises during UPW.

After I left UPW, I couldn't just let that feeling of desperation continue. I figured I would just bootstrap my way out of that too…I had done it with everything else, why not this. I am a lifelong learner and a natural networker and connector by nature, so I figured someone had to have the answer for me, so I started searching and putting myself around people that I felt could help me find the answer, to help me find my passion. Let the journey begin!

I told my new tribe that I wanted to find my passion and the people around me said I should meditate and journal and work on healing the past. At first, I was like "no, my past trauma is in the past and I stuffed it down for a reason. I can just keep moving forward and there is no reason to unearth it and deal with it now. One has nothing to do with the other."

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Seriously, who was I flipping kidding? I had such a cloud from the past over me that when I looked up, I didn't know there was any other option for the sky to look except what I saw each day from underneath my passionless storm cloud.

I think most of us can agree that desperation makes us do strange things…At this point I had committed quite a bit of resources to my new journey, so I thought what could it hurt, I'll play along. So I started meditating and journal and digging up that past trauma and purposefully forgiving others and forgiving myself. Ouch, I have to forgive myself- that was probably the hardest one. Oh wait, I was wrong, I am supposed to love myself too. Ok fine, I guess I can learn to love myself too, if you say so, I'll play along….

Thank God I played along. What I found along my journey is that my passion was buried under the hurt, wounds and trauma of the past. Only when I started to heal the hurt and release the fear did the truth appear because I was able to freely give and receive love which allowed my truth to shine through. I didn't know my truth until I let the love in. I had to go on a mission to discover my true passion because I had been numb for so long that I couldn't recognize what my passion was.

I also know that I am not alone and that there are others that feel/felt the same way I have, so no more hiding under those storm clouds, it's time for me to share my story and let the love flow.
